The EL Tape Molex Connector is required for plug and play applications of EL Tape. The EL Tape EZ Snap Connector differs from EL Wire connectors as these are commercial grade connectors. What makes these commercial grade is a more rugged Molex connector, and higher voltage pass through needed for the EL Tape installations.
EL Tape does not "need" an EZ snap connector, however this makes the tape easy to change out without having to re-solder connections.
