Split EL Tape

There are two different types of EL tape and panels, Split and Parallel. The main difference between them is that Split EL Tape lasts longer and glows brighter, but is also more expensive. Split EL Tape can also be cut with scissors to any desired length so long as you don’t cross the line (Scribe line) that splits the tape.

Split EL Tape

This stuff is great for tons of applications, and comes with an adhesive backing so you can stick it pretty much anywhere. Under the cabinets for a nice accent lighting, displays, architectural lighting etc. The possibilities are endless The only downside to split EL tape, is that a higher voltage and lower frequency (when compared to EL Wire) are required. This extends the life of the tape, but also means you have less versatility with your power sources. Because of the lack of versatility with the power sources and price difference, Split EL tape is generally the best choice for commercial applications.
