How many times have you tried to have an epic, spontaneous dance party and stuck someone in the corner to flip the lights on and off? If you’ve ever been that person, you know how NOT fun that can be. Nor is the effect nearly as cool as you want it to be. Well, those days are over. What you need in order to turn your party into the crazy night it should be is a strobe light! A strobe light is a device used to produce regular flashes of light, and it has easily become one of the most popular gadgets for special lighting effects. Strobe lights have many practical medical and industrial purposes, but they are often used in nightclubs, dance companies, plays, and even right in your own home for easy fun and entertainment.

A typical commercial strobe light has a flash energy ranging from 10 to 150 joules and discharge times as short as a few milliseconds. This results in a flash power of several kilowatts. Some larger strobe lights can be set to “continuous” mode in order to create extremely bright illumination. Strobe lights typically expel white light, but colored light can be obtained by using colored gels. A new easy approach to adding color to strobe lights is LED Strobe Lights. The LED Techno Strobe uses RGB LED's that can create an almost infinite number of color possibilities.
A strobe light’s bright flashes of light are most dramatic and effective in very dark spaces. One of the trademark features of a strobe is that these light flashes can produce an illusion of slow motion. Strobe lights work by limiting what our eyes can perceive, and the flickering effect of the flashes happens too quickly for us to directly see the movement and changes going on us around us. As a result, the objects in motion appear to move differently, as if they were moving in a step-by-step process rather than a continuous, flowing motion.
Strobe lights will brighten up the room and create a fun ambiance for any party, event, or production. Whether used to get people out on the dance floor, to create the perfect setting and feel for a scene in a play, or to really give a production that over-the-top “WOW” factor, strobe lights are the way to go.
