In order for a DJ to have control of the atmosphere in the bar or overall in the nightclub, then the proper DJ lighting equipment is needed. This equipment typically consists of a DMX controller that is able to match the lighting effects with the beat and rhythm of the music being played. These effects enable the use of a more sophisticated lighting system than simply strobe lights and a disco ball and make a complete light show experience possible for the customers. Typically, a DMX controller is used in combination with controlling LED lights, which provide bright lights in a variety of colors that are energy-efficient. The DJ lighting equipment can provide the coordination of light and sound on the dance floor that customers expect. A deejay that has a thorough knowledge of his business can mix the songs during peak hours and program the DMX controller so that sound and visual effects will be coordinated with the music. Air horn blasts, spotlights that move around the dance floor, colored LED beams and low lying fog can all be hooked into the dance floor so that not only the lights glow to the beat of the music but any floor panels made of LED lights can also flash in a pre-deigned pattern in rhythm to the music.

In order to make your DJ Lights, you need an individual who is conversant in both music and technology and knows how to combine the both to produce an extraordinary experience for your customers. To make the experience complete, the deejay should be one of the integral components of your night club, making him or her part of your meetings about promotions and bookings and keeping him or her abreast of decisions related to entertainment. Often the DJ can have valuable input regarding entertainers and how certain ones can enrich the overall experience of your clients. Remember that the deejay is close to the dance floor and can have direct contact with customers and know what they will enjoy most and what does not work for them.

When considering which DJ Lighting Package is right for you, it is important to have the appropriate DMX controller for your lighting situation. You want to be certain that the controller you are using will do what you want it to do. One factor to look at is the number of channels you need. If you have just overhead lights, beams and strobes, then a simpler DMX controller will work for your situation but if your night club includes deejay booths with special lights, multiple DJ Lasers or a dance floor with LED panels, then you will need a DMX controller with 512 channels that is able to control up to 32 different kinds of fixtures.

Another consideration with regards to the DMX controller is whether you want to have a dedicated DMX controller or one that is computer based. Dedicated controllers are somewhat regarded as legacy equipment while ones based on personal computers come with their own software and provide a greater number of capabilities for your lighting effects. When designing the lighting for your night club you make sure that you have the necessary personnel and the proper DJ lighting equipment.
